Greetings!

Hello SLP World!

After months of debating to start a blog, I have finally decided to just do it already! FYI, I am a newbie when it comes to blogging, so bear with me. My name is Alexandra and I am a relatively new SLP working in the public schools in the New England area. I finished my CFY last year and am now fully licensed (wahoo)! I am also very excited to say that I recently accepted a new preschool position for next Fall. Pre-k is my all-time favorite age, so I can finally say that I have found my dream job after years of searching!

I began following blogs when I was in graduate school and, at that time, very few blogs existed that were geared specifically for speech and language pathologists. I instantly became hooked. I loved feeling connected with other SLP's out there working in the schools and was thirsty for ideas, materials, and advice. After work, I would obsessively check blogs that I followed and downloaded materials, read articles, and became best friends with my printer and laminator. Teachers and other SLP's in my building came to know me as the hoarder of "useless" items (like empty tissue boxes and swiffer containers). Yet, after every observation or co-teaching therapy session, I was praised for my creativity. Now, after two years of experience in the field, I wanted to start a blog to share my ideas to other fellow SLP's out there working with kiddos, as well as, document and organize my materials online. I am so excited to have finally made the time and summoned the courage to do this!

So... here it goes!

Thanks so much for reading and stay tuned for some great stuff :)
